Journal Entry 8/16/2013 HYDROGEN PEROXIDE!

Hydrogen peroxide can be found at your local supermarket
in a brown bottle. Be sure to get the 3% kind!

Dear Journal,
It was a wonderful and sunny Friday, with temperatures reaching the high 90's, means that today was pure summer. After playing Minecraft for many hours, I had to go to the dentist, because I had a toothache. Thank God that I didn't have a cavity, but instead I had gum covering my molar and I needed to rinse my mouth with hydrogen peroxide and/or sea salt water.
ABOUT HYDROGEN PEROXIDE: Hydrogen peroxide is commonly used for antiseptic purposes to clean scrapes or cuts, but did you know it can be used for your teeth? (It even says so on the bottle) Teeth whiteners you buy at the store contain a compound called carbamide peroxide which breaks down to urea and hydrogen peroxide. (Urea removes stains and hydrogen peroxide becomes a bleaching agent) It may irritate your gums, tongue, and/or the roof of your mouth, but if you swallow hydrogen peroxide, it can damage your internal membranes and esophagus. (SO DON'T SWALLOW) (The most common problems with rinsing hydrogen peroxide is mild gum irritation, and/or temperature sensitivity. Hydrogen peroxide also fights bacteria in your mouth and gingivitis (bleeding and inflamed gums) Hydrogen peroxide prevents plaque and bacteria build up, which leads to a fresher breath. Because of the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide, it gets to mostly everywhere in your mouth where bacteria tend to stay. I use the solution that my dentist recommends which is 50% water, and 50% hydrogen peroxide.

I also ask the dentist about braces AND THANK GOD THAT I DON'T NEED TO PULL MY TEETH! I went home after the dentist and did as he told, and boy did my teeth feel ALOT better. I played some more minecraft and dinnertime came. After dinner, I had to wash the dishes which was really unfortunate, because I HATE DISHES. I did the dishes and I have some tips:

  • Always prepare a large bucket or bowl of hot soapy water. (be careful not to make it too hot, as it can burn you xD)
  • You can always fill your sink with hot soapy water and let your dishes soak there for 20-30 minutes.
  • (Remember, the earlier you do your dishes, the easier it is, since the food isn't dried on your dishware.)
  • After cooking with your pan, carefully wipe away the grease with a paper towel, so it will be easier to clean later.
  • To help time pass by faster, you can sing, and listen to music
  • If you have a dishwasher, use it because it can save water! (You still need to slightly clean the dishes before placing the dishes inside the dishwasher.)
  • Don't complain about dishes, it just wastes your time. (I'm being hypocritical right now because I complain all the time xD)
  • Remember this quote: Thank God for dirty dishes, because while there are people starving, we have food to eat.
That's all I have for today, good bye!
