Journal Entry 8/30-9/2/2013 MOUNTAINS/CHURCH RETREAT/ BEAUTIFUL!!!

Dear Journal,
On Friday, August, 30th, I went to the mountains to go on a church retreat. We left at around 5 p.m. and arrived at 8:30 p.m. During the ride, it started raining, so that wasn't so good. Before we headed up the mountain, we went and bought dinner. (I got a Subway and it was pretty good. I don't care how unhealthy it is...) As we headed up the mountain, it started getting dark, and there were sharp turns. (Rain+sharp turns+darkness=bad news.) If you want to avoid car sickness, go to the link here. After we arrived to the site at an elevation of 7,400 ft, we had Friday night sabbath service. After service I headed to my cabin. (Cabin B) The cabins had a bathroom with a shower. There were 4 bunk beds (so eight beds in total.) We went to sleep at around 12:30, because we were staying up playing cards. (Big 2 and B.S. and all those sortsa things.) We woke up at 6:30 in the morning and prepared for Sabbath morning service. Service began at 10:30 and it ended at 3:30. I'm not gonna discuss about the food because it wasn't really good. :/ So after the service we played SUPER JENGA!!!! It was super fun!!! :D. Super Jenga is basically just jenga but it's a HUMONGOUS version of it. Don't let little kids play with it or else the tower might collapse on top of them. After we LOST super jenga xD we went on a little hike. Here are some pictures: After the hike, it was dinner (the food wasn't so good) and then we had a BONFIREEE!!! :) it was fun. We played this game called drop the blanket and it's where there are two teams on opposite sides of the blanket and once you drop the blanket, whoever says the other person's name wins their team a point! We played another game where it was bible trivia and there would be 6 people surrounding an egg carton. There was someone who asked the question and the opponents looked at the eggs where there would be answers. When they say go, you quickly grab an egg (the correct one) and if your answer is wrong, the egg would be raw, and if it was correct it would be hardboiled. On the count of three, you would smash the egg against your head. (don't smash too hard because the hardboiled eggs HURT your head REALLY badly.) We also learned a few hymns. After that we headed back to and we played this REALLY fun card game called "Werewolves of Millers Hollow." The game is basically the card game mafia but with werewolves. You can check out the game here. IT'S REALLY fun if you play with lots of people and you can play it on and on without getting bored. We continued playing until 1:30 in the morning!!! The next morning we woke up, we went on a hike. We were thinking of going south, but we changed our minds and went up north. After the lovely hike we headed back for breakfast. When breakfast ended at 9:30, we went for another hour hike (but this time with everyone) to Jenks Lake. It was so fun and I went canoeing for the first time in my life!!! :D The only thing scary is that we almost collided into another boat and we almost hit shallow land. After having a great time canoeing, we went to eat lunch and after lunch we got rides back to camp!!! (thank goodness cuz the way back was all uphill and I already got REALLY tired going downhill.)
Once we got back, we did archery!!! I MISSED LIKE 3 OF THEM ._. the only one that made it, hit the outermost ring... I didn't pull hard enough, that's why. After archery me and my friends just sat around and ate dry noodles. If you've never tried it, you're missing out.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
1. Buy a pack of ramen noodles (the ones in the bag)
2. Crumble the noodles while they're still in the bag.
3. Open the bag and pour as much of the seasoning that come with the pack you need. (only pour in the dry powder, not any of the pastes)
There you go! It's really easy to make, and it's really good.
After having a not-so-good dinner, we had the end of camp presentation. :'( It was a really good presentation and it had a few slides showing the chinese version of The Giving Tree. Every time I read that story, I always cry  because it's so sad. After that WE PLAYED WEREWOLVES AGAINNN :DDD!!! We played until 1:30 and then we went back to our cabins. I played chess until 2:00 with my friend. Then we slept.
I woke up at 5:30 because we were gonna go on another hikeee!!! :) We went on the same trail as the previous day, but this time, our group of 7 kids went down the trail to a stream. There, we found a mysterious arrow made of rocks! We crossed a log which acted as a bridge to cross the stream. We headed towards the source of the stream but we ran out of time so we had to go back. We were late for breakfast so the adults got mad at us of worrying them. Soon, it was time for us to leave. I was sad but we will have another retreat in 4 years or so!!!

Yeah sorry I don't have any pictures... LOL

Journal Entry 8/21

Dear Journal,
Today, I went to the orthodontist to make 2 molds of my teeth for braces which costed $100. My mom thinks that if we send the mold to medical or whatever, they will pay for my braces, but you need 26 points, and my orthodontist said I have less than 20 points. I think it was a waste of money. When the molds were being pulled out my tooth started bleeding, but it didn't hurt, although I thought it was going to rip my teeth off. :D

Journal Entry 8/20/13 PAPERCRAFT!

Dear Journal,
An interest of papercrafting has striked in me. For those who don't know what papercrafting is, it's where you print a template online, cut it, and glue the the tabs and everything together. I am currently working on a minecraft chess set, since it's the cutest thing EVER. The link will be down below. I also started to take Calcium, magnesium, and zinc tablets. Benefits: Calcium strengthen your bones (so fewer fractures) magnesium may prevent of manage type two diabetes, and pregnant women who take zinc promote normal growth and development in their children. For more benefits, visit the link here. The weather was great today, and my teeth feel great thanks to the hydrogen peroxide rinse. :D I also played minecraft which I do everyday. LOL.

I got the papercraft idea from this blog Balance is Essence News. It's a very informative blog. (Just Saying)
Papercraft link is here. (click the blue "here")

Thank you and HAPPY PAPERCRAFTING!!! :D

Journal Entry 8/19/2013 BAKING SODA TEETH WHITENING

Dear Journal,
Today I had a boring day. All I did was play Minecraft but the more out of the usual thing I did was whiten my teeth! I used baking soda to whiten my teeth :3.

  1. Get out your tooth brush. And pour some baking soda in a cup/bowl/whatever you want
  2. Dip you tooth brush and brush your teeth (no toothpaste)
  3. Keep on dipping and brushing until you brushed all your teeth
  4. Avoid brushing your gums, because it could irritate them.
  5. Do normal brushing with toothpaste
  6. Rinse your mouth
You won't see much of a difference, but if you continuing to do this every week, your teeth will be white as pearls. BE SURE TO USE IT ONLY ONCE A WEEK BECAUSE OR IT WILL WEAR YOUR ENAMEL. Additionally, you can rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide. Click here to see the benefits of hydrogen peroxide. Since there is nothing else to write, I shall write a poem.

I did nothing today,
My summer was boring,
School starts next Tuesday,
And then I will start crying.

I will do something fun tomorrow,
So I can make the most of my summer,
Maybe I'll climb Mount Kilimanjaro,
Or get a job as a plumber.

Who knows what I'll do?
No matter what,
I'll share the moment with you,
while eating a peanut.
Mt. Kilimanjaro
If you like the poem, please tell me in the comments. BAIIII :D

Journal Entry 8/18/2013 SOUR CREAM FACE MASK

Dear Journal,
Today I had a horrible day because my mom made me do soooooooooooooooo many chores. I had to wipe the couches, CLEAN THE CARPET (the worst) and wash the dishes! Ugh I'm so tired. ._. Speaking about wiping couches, you can remove stains off of  leather couches by applying some rubbing alcohol and rubbing the stain with a cotton ball or cloth. If you can't remove the stain, apply a non oily, and non gel cuticle remover on the stain and leave it on overnight. The next day, wipe it off with a damp towel or cloth. I also applied my special mask to reduce freckles and lighten the skin on my face.

  1. So the first step to get a bootiful face is to wash your face. (Preferably a Exfoliating face wash) Exfoliation removes dead skin cells from your body and makes your skin feeling healthier and softer. NEVER USE IT AROUND THE EYES.
  2. Make your mask. (Ingredients: a spoon full of sour cream, (not yogurt) a little bit of lemon juice, 10-15 flakes of oats, and some honey.
  3. Apply to your face and wait until it dries.
  4. When dried, wipe the mask off of your face with a lightly wetted cloth or paper towel. (don't wash it off)
  5. Apply lotion immediately.
  6. Make sure to apply sunscreen the next day before leaving your house!!!
  7. WARNING DO NOT USE THIS MASK IN THE DAY TIME
That's all I have to say.. for now :D well time to go to sleeeeep!!! Bye!!!

Journal Entry 8/16/2013 HYDROGEN PEROXIDE!

Hydrogen peroxide can be found at your local supermarket
in a brown bottle. Be sure to get the 3% kind!

Dear Journal,
It was a wonderful and sunny Friday, with temperatures reaching the high 90's, means that today was pure summer. After playing Minecraft for many hours, I had to go to the dentist, because I had a toothache. Thank God that I didn't have a cavity, but instead I had gum covering my molar and I needed to rinse my mouth with hydrogen peroxide and/or sea salt water.
ABOUT HYDROGEN PEROXIDE: Hydrogen peroxide is commonly used for antiseptic purposes to clean scrapes or cuts, but did you know it can be used for your teeth? (It even says so on the bottle) Teeth whiteners you buy at the store contain a compound called carbamide peroxide which breaks down to urea and hydrogen peroxide. (Urea removes stains and hydrogen peroxide becomes a bleaching agent) It may irritate your gums, tongue, and/or the roof of your mouth, but if you swallow hydrogen peroxide, it can damage your internal membranes and esophagus. (SO DON'T SWALLOW) (The most common problems with rinsing hydrogen peroxide is mild gum irritation, and/or temperature sensitivity. Hydrogen peroxide also fights bacteria in your mouth and gingivitis (bleeding and inflamed gums) Hydrogen peroxide prevents plaque and bacteria build up, which leads to a fresher breath. Because of the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide, it gets to mostly everywhere in your mouth where bacteria tend to stay. I use the solution that my dentist recommends which is 50% water, and 50% hydrogen peroxide.

I also ask the dentist about braces AND THANK GOD THAT I DON'T NEED TO PULL MY TEETH! I went home after the dentist and did as he told, and boy did my teeth feel ALOT better. I played some more minecraft and dinnertime came. After dinner, I had to wash the dishes which was really unfortunate, because I HATE DISHES. I did the dishes and I have some tips:

  • Always prepare a large bucket or bowl of hot soapy water. (be careful not to make it too hot, as it can burn you xD)
  • You can always fill your sink with hot soapy water and let your dishes soak there for 20-30 minutes.
  • (Remember, the earlier you do your dishes, the easier it is, since the food isn't dried on your dishware.)
  • After cooking with your pan, carefully wipe away the grease with a paper towel, so it will be easier to clean later.
  • To help time pass by faster, you can sing, and listen to music
  • If you have a dishwasher, use it because it can save water! (You still need to slightly clean the dishes before placing the dishes inside the dishwasher.)
  • Don't complain about dishes, it just wastes your time. (I'm being hypocritical right now because I complain all the time xD)
  • Remember this quote: Thank God for dirty dishes, because while there are people starving, we have food to eat.
That's all I have for today, good bye!
