Journal Entry 8/30-9/2/2013 MOUNTAINS/CHURCH RETREAT/ BEAUTIFUL!!!

Dear Journal,
On Friday, August, 30th, I went to the mountains to go on a church retreat. We left at around 5 p.m. and arrived at 8:30 p.m. During the ride, it started raining, so that wasn't so good. Before we headed up the mountain, we went and bought dinner. (I got a Subway and it was pretty good. I don't care how unhealthy it is...) As we headed up the mountain, it started getting dark, and there were sharp turns. (Rain+sharp turns+darkness=bad news.) If you want to avoid car sickness, go to the link here. After we arrived to the site at an elevation of 7,400 ft, we had Friday night sabbath service. After service I headed to my cabin. (Cabin B) The cabins had a bathroom with a shower. There were 4 bunk beds (so eight beds in total.) We went to sleep at around 12:30, because we were staying up playing cards. (Big 2 and B.S. and all those sortsa things.) We woke up at 6:30 in the morning and prepared for Sabbath morning service. Service began at 10:30 and it ended at 3:30. I'm not gonna discuss about the food because it wasn't really good. :/ So after the service we played SUPER JENGA!!!! It was super fun!!! :D. Super Jenga is basically just jenga but it's a HUMONGOUS version of it. Don't let little kids play with it or else the tower might collapse on top of them. After we LOST super jenga xD we went on a little hike. Here are some pictures: After the hike, it was dinner (the food wasn't so good) and then we had a BONFIREEE!!! :) it was fun. We played this game called drop the blanket and it's where there are two teams on opposite sides of the blanket and once you drop the blanket, whoever says the other person's name wins their team a point! We played another game where it was bible trivia and there would be 6 people surrounding an egg carton. There was someone who asked the question and the opponents looked at the eggs where there would be answers. When they say go, you quickly grab an egg (the correct one) and if your answer is wrong, the egg would be raw, and if it was correct it would be hardboiled. On the count of three, you would smash the egg against your head. (don't smash too hard because the hardboiled eggs HURT your head REALLY badly.) We also learned a few hymns. After that we headed back to and we played this REALLY fun card game called "Werewolves of Millers Hollow." The game is basically the card game mafia but with werewolves. You can check out the game here. IT'S REALLY fun if you play with lots of people and you can play it on and on without getting bored. We continued playing until 1:30 in the morning!!! The next morning we woke up, we went on a hike. We were thinking of going south, but we changed our minds and went up north. After the lovely hike we headed back for breakfast. When breakfast ended at 9:30, we went for another hour hike (but this time with everyone) to Jenks Lake. It was so fun and I went canoeing for the first time in my life!!! :D The only thing scary is that we almost collided into another boat and we almost hit shallow land. After having a great time canoeing, we went to eat lunch and after lunch we got rides back to camp!!! (thank goodness cuz the way back was all uphill and I already got REALLY tired going downhill.)
Once we got back, we did archery!!! I MISSED LIKE 3 OF THEM ._. the only one that made it, hit the outermost ring... I didn't pull hard enough, that's why. After archery me and my friends just sat around and ate dry noodles. If you've never tried it, you're missing out.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
1. Buy a pack of ramen noodles (the ones in the bag)
2. Crumble the noodles while they're still in the bag.
3. Open the bag and pour as much of the seasoning that come with the pack you need. (only pour in the dry powder, not any of the pastes)
There you go! It's really easy to make, and it's really good.
After having a not-so-good dinner, we had the end of camp presentation. :'( It was a really good presentation and it had a few slides showing the chinese version of The Giving Tree. Every time I read that story, I always cry  because it's so sad. After that WE PLAYED WEREWOLVES AGAINNN :DDD!!! We played until 1:30 and then we went back to our cabins. I played chess until 2:00 with my friend. Then we slept.
I woke up at 5:30 because we were gonna go on another hikeee!!! :) We went on the same trail as the previous day, but this time, our group of 7 kids went down the trail to a stream. There, we found a mysterious arrow made of rocks! We crossed a log which acted as a bridge to cross the stream. We headed towards the source of the stream but we ran out of time so we had to go back. We were late for breakfast so the adults got mad at us of worrying them. Soon, it was time for us to leave. I was sad but we will have another retreat in 4 years or so!!!

Yeah sorry I don't have any pictures... LOL
